How to Apply
You can apply for a Professional Year Program using our online application form.

Step 1. Find the right program
You will find all of our programs listed on the Programs page. The page will provide you with program entry criteria, fees and course structure.
Step 2. check your eligibility
Before you begin, make sure you check that you meet the entry requirements your chosen program. Please note that there are specific eligibility criteria for each Professional Year Program stream.
Step 3. Gather the necessary documents
To complete the application form, you will need electronic copies of the following documents:
- Certified copy of your academic transcript/qualifications (English version)
- Certified evidence of English language proficiency unless you can demonstrate you are a native English speaker (minimum of IELTS 6.0 in all bands or equivalent in PTE, TOEFL, CAE)
- Certified copy of your photo and signature page of passport or proof of identity if you are an Australian Citizen
- Evidence of a current suitable visa or New Zealand citizenship
- A copy of your current resume
- A relevant skills assessment from an industry professional body (only applicable for Professional Year Programs)
Documents submitted in a language other than English must be accompanied by a complete English translation by an accredited translator with a government body or the Registrar of the issuing institution.
Individuals applying for the Professional Year in Engineering will need to fill out an additional application form. You will find the form on the EEA website here. Please retain your EEA application form as you will need to upload it to complete your application.
Step 4. Understand the fees you need to pay for the program
Details of the program fees, including promotions are included in the program pages. The fee structures are updated regularly in the website.
Step 5. Apply using the online form
Apply to enrol with ACAP Professional by completing the student application form. Follow the prompts to enter your details and upload the requested paperwork. You are able to save your work and come back to complete the form within 48 hours.
qualification criteria
Accounting Professional Year Program
The Accounting Professional Year Program is available to international graduates of Australian universities. To qualify, you must:
- have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate award in Accounting, as a result of at least two years* full-time study in Australia
*Two academic years is defined as being at least 92 weeks according to the CRICOS registration of full time study - hold or applied for a Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485, either stream) with at least 12 months’ validity or hold an eligible Secondary Visa with work and study rights with at least 12 months’ validity
- have a minimum IELTS score of 6.0, in each band, or equivalent score from PTE-A (score of 50), TOEFL iBT or Cambridge Advanced English
- have undertaken a pre-enrolment interview

ACS Professional Year Program in IT
To qualify for the ACS Professional Year Program in IT, you must:
- have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate award in an IT Major in Australia and meet the applicable Australian Study Requirement (ASR) prior to commencement
- hold or applied for a Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485, either stream) with at least 12 months’ validity or hold an eligible Secondary Visa with work and study rights with at least 12 months’ validity
- have at least a PTE-A score of 50 in all categories or overall IELTS score of 6.0 across all four competencies or equivalent
- have undertaken a pre-enrolment interview

Professional Year in Engineering
To qualify for Engineering Education Australia’s (EEA) Professional Year in Engineering , you must:
- have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate award for Engineering in Australia, completed within 4 years of the date of application, with a minimum of two years (94 weeks) study duration.
Note: The degree must qualify as an Engineering course (Broad and Narrow Fields) under the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). - hold or applied for a Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485, either stream) with at least 12 months’ validity or hold an eligible Secondary Visa with work and study rights with at least 12 months’ validity
Note: Offshore university graduates may be eligible to complete the Professional Year in Engineering on a 476 visa. - have at least a IELTS score of 6.0 with nothing below 5, in all 4 competencies or equivalent PTE-A and TOEFL – iBT scores
- provide a successful Migration Skills Assessment from Engineers Australia.
