Online English test preparation
Since 2017 we have provided free access to online PTE-A or IELTS English test preparation training.
As part of our commitment to help our participants continue to improve their communication skills, we are proud to provide free access to their choice of online PTE-A or IELTS English test preparation training.
These English test preparation courses being accessible online allows participants the flexibility to complete their training anywhere they have Wi-Fi, desktop or mobile.
When applying for a Professional Year Program, the applicant will receive a letter explaining the difference of the three online English test preparation courses and will be able to choose which course best suits their English development needs.
Once the applicant has commenced their work-readiness program, a login to their choice of online English test preparation training will be provided within four weeks.

PTE-A – Pearson Test of English – Academic
Participants that have chosen to complete the PTE-A online English test preparation course will receive a login* to access anytime, anywhere:
- One scored practice test
- Sample questions
The course includes:
- 70 timed sample questions
- Quick view of all 20 question types
- Ability to review your answers with model answers
- General hints and tips for PTE-A
- Hints and tips for each question type
- Full, timed PTE-A practice exam online
- Ability to familiarise yourself with the test format
- Mock score report – results across all skills
*There is a 90 day validity period from first login for the PTE-A preparation program. After the 90 days the access to the preparation course will expire.

IELTS – INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH LANGUAGE TESTING SYSTEM
Participants that have chosen to complete IELTS (General or Academic) online English test preparation course will receive a login to access anytime, anywhere:
- IELTS General or Academic course that run for 100 hours Â
- four modules (reading, writing, listening and speaking), each taking approximately 25 hours to complete and can be completed in 10-minute segments
The focus of the IELTS self-study courses is to build your test-taking strategies as well as develop your English language proficiency. Authentic IELTS receptive (listening and reading) and productive (speaking and writing) resources are used throughout. There is a strong emphasis on the development of a wide vocabulary and an appreciation of grammar and language functions with specific focus on the IELTS test as developed by Cambridge.Â
Each of the modules will assist in improving participants’ English language proficiency and prepare for the test are:
For IELTS General:
- Reading module: used for different levels of language proficiency. Reading passages are similar in length, difficulty and topic to the authentic IELTS reading test, and the question types are similar to authentic IELTS question types
- Writing module: improve writing abilities on topics that typically appear in the IELTS General Training writing test
- Listening module: provides practice of listening tasks, supported by interactive vocabulary, grammar and language-focused activities
- Speaking module: prepare speaking of different kinds of topics that typically occur in the IELTS speaking test. The focus is on fluency and coherence, lexical resource, grammatical range and accuracy, and pronunciation
For IELTS Academic:
- Reading module: provides practice in IELTS reading tests to help understand and practise the language and reading skills you need
- Writing module:Â aims to improve confidence in answering IELTS type task 1 and 2 questions. It also builds on the specific language skills needed to successfully formulate a task response
- Listening module:Â provides practice of listening tasks, supported by interactive vocabulary,grammar and language-focused activities
- Speaking module: prepare speaking of different kinds of topics that typically occur in the IELTS speaking test. The focus is on fluency and coherence, lexical resource, grammatical range and accuracy, and pronunciation
